The Andhra Pradesh government presented a budget of Rs 2.94 lakh crore on Monday, November 11. The Finance Minister said in his speech that for 2024 to 2025, Rs 29,909 crore has been allocated for school education, Rs 16,739 crore for Panchayat Raj and rural development and Rs 18,421 crore for health and family welfare. The Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh said that the government is working on ways to strengthen the financial situation. The budget bill presented for the financial year 2024 to 25 will help a lot in the development of Andhra Pradesh. The Finance Minister has also given some comments pointing to the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has focused on the development of various sectors of the budget, including education, health and rural development. While presenting the budget in the Andhra Pradesh assembly, Mr Keshav said that the estimated State Sub-Gross Deficit is Rs. 3474.38 crores and the Fiscal Deficit is estimated to be around Rs. 68742.65 crores. This deficit will be about 4.19% of the Gross State Domestic Product while the fiscal deficit will be about 2.12% of the GSDP. He urged the State Government to increase the budget on health to 6% of the State Domestic Product and consider the health infrastructure, personnel and claims.

He said that the N Chandrababu Naidu led government gives top priority to the irrigation sector and is formulating a comprehensive new water policy to ensure that water reaches every possible farm. The Finance Minister said that when the previous government left power, the financial structure had deteriorated. Minister Payyavula Keshav said that the aim is to take this structure back to the basics.
