The Uttar Pradesh government has started working rapidly on the expansion plan of Gorakhpur airport. It has been decided to build this airport project on a total of 42 acres of land, where 800 passengers will be able to travel simultaneously.
After the completion of this Gorakhpur airport project, it is being told that 100 airplanes will fly simultaneously. This airport will be named after Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath. Looking at the ever increasing number of passengers, the construction work of the terminal has been speeded up.
The new terminal will also provide excellent facilities to the passengers, who will expand as an industrial, religious and tourist destination of Gorakhpur district, as well as the airport of passengers from all over the country during the Paschim Vihar period. The work of terminal expansion is going on rapidly, and it is expected that from the last week of March or the first week of April, four flights will be able to take off and land simultaneously.
Flights will fly from Gorakhpur to Delhi and Mumbai. It is expected that a plan to start flights from Gorakhpur to Pune and Jammu is also being considered. After runway extension, more buses and flights will fly simultaneously. Pack changer capacity of Airbus will be 180 to 240.

1 to Hyderabad
And 1 to Kolkata.
Due to space problem on the old runway of UP airport, going and other flights were not able to take off simultaneously. A total of 22 flights (up and down) are being operated from Gorakhpur airport. These include flights of companies like Akasa, SpiceJet, Indigo and Alliance Air.
